Andreas Kipar keynote speaker at ‘Re-envisioning European Landscapes’, IFLA

Andreas Kipar holds the keynote lecture at IFLA Europe New European Bauhaus Festival Conference 'Re-envisioning European Landscapes' in Bruxelles.

Andreas Kipar has been invited as keynote lecturer for the IFLA Europe Conference, titled “Re-envisioning European Landscapes through Innovative New European Bauhaus Solutions.” This event, scheduled for Thursday, 18 April 2024, from 18:00 to 20:00 CET, will be held at the ULB Faculty of Architecture La Cambre Horta in Brussels. It is meant to offer a response to the escalating sustainability and resilience challenges in urban environments.

This pivotal conference is part of the New European Bauhaus Festival. It is supported by multiple prestigious projects and organizations, including the EU Interreg Euro-Med project ‘Bauhaus4Med’, the CIVA initiative ‘Jeudis du Paysage’ lecture series, and the ULB Faculté d’architecture de l’ULB: La Cambre Horta. It aims to address the urgent need for cities to evolve towards more sustainable and resilient urban environments that harmoniously integrate nature within their landscapes.

Following Andreas’ keynote, a round-table discussion will provide a platform for leading voices in the field, including – besides Andreas –  Ruth Schageman, President of the Architects’ Council of Europe; Catherine Vilquin from the ECTP-CEU Board of Directors; Annemie Bertha Marcella Wyckmans of NTNU University and the NEB Alliance; and Katerina Gkoltsiou, President of IFLA EU.
Didier Vancutsem will moderate the discussion.

This conference promises to inspire and propose practical solutions, fostering a reconnection with nature through the innovative lens of landscape architecture tailored to meet the daily needs of urban dwellers. We look forward to exploring how interdisciplinary approaches in landscape architecture can contribute to a more sustainable future for European cities.
