LAND and Migliore+Servetto for Lendlease present the installation Urban Living
LAND and Migliore+Servetto for Lendlease, for the 60th Salone del Mobile, present the installation "Urban Living, a window on the Decumanus of MIND," as part of the Brera Design District programme of the Milan Design Week 2022.
The project involves the setting up of an equipped parklet in Via Varese 12, outside of the LAND premises, in dialogue with the Wunderkammer exhibition space, which for the occasion will be the stage for talks on the theme of “Meanwhile uses” with international protagonists.
The installation recalls the work carried out in MIND, Milano Innovation District, the innovation district born from the reconversion of the Expo2015 area and developed in a public-private partnership by Arexpo and Lendlease. The MIND project aims to give life to a sustainable, carbon-neutral, and inclusive city of the future. Here, innovation is generated collaboratively to benefit communities. In this context of continuous urban change, the firm Migliore+Servetto has signed MIND Flow, an installation with environmental solid and narrative content that gives identity to the site, accompanying its various construction phases towards its final configuration. It is a 1.8 km long, 15,000 square metre street painting intervention in yellow accompanying visitors from the underground exit to the Tree of Life, connecting and identifying the various areas under development. In this way, the landscape can anticipate and promote the timing of the ongoing transformation, helping to create a sense of community and opening up new perspectives on the future. That is intended as a greener and more resilient future based on integrating nature into the various aspects of our lives.
Talks programme
Building on the experience gained at MIND, the MIND flow, curated by M+S, and the green loops, curated by LAND, arrive at Via Varese 12 to give back a green space to the local community. It happens thanks to installing a living lawn with the support of HW Style – a leader in Italy in the design, creation, and maintenance of indoor and outdoor greenery. The yellow lines flow all the way into the LAND Wunderkammer exhibition space, a stage and showcase in which to explore the theme of the show, “Between Space and Time”, through a rich programme of activities, from the themed exhibition to a series of talks where the protagonists of MIND will dialogue with some of the leading figures from the world of architecture, art and real estate on the theme of Meanwhile Uses.
