AI Catalyst Summit: How Artificial Intelligence can make Natural Capital visible
On 1 October 2026, LAND Research Lab is joining the AI Catalyst Summit at AI Village, sharing insights on how AI can help create tangible impact for Nature and the economy.
On 1 October, AI Village, the innovation campus for artificial intelligence and robotics in North Rhine-Westphalia, is hosting the second AI Catalyst Summit, bringing together decision-makers, technology companies and practitioners to explore how AI can move from vision to implementation.
With high-profile speakers, practical use cases, interactive masterclasses and discussions, the summit creates a space to move beyond talking about AI and explore how the technology can be translated into concrete applications and impact.
In the afternoon, Nikolas Neubert, Chief Innovation Officer & General Manager of the LAND Research Lab, will present the research project nAIture Capital in NRW as part of the summit’s Use Cases programme.
Natural Capital – the ecosystems, resources and services provided by nature – is fundamental to our economies and societies. Yet its value is often difficult to capture in conventional decision-making processes.
Commissioned by the State Government and co‑financed by the European Union (ERDF/JTF), the project supports climate‑neutrality goals and enables evidence‑based environmental decision‑making across the region. With “nAIture Capital in NRW”, LAND Research Lab is developing the first AI-supported methodology for recording and assessing Natural Capital in North Rhine-Westphalia.
The aim is not simply to generate more data. It is to translate complex information about ecosystems and their value into insights that can support strategic decisions, helping policy, planning and business better understand the natural assets they depend on and the opportunities to protect and strengthen them.
