AIAS 2026: advancing Nature-Positive Energy Landscapes
On April 14, Filippo Lafleur, PhD Landscape Urbanist at LAND Italia, was keynote speaker at the annual assembly of AIAS - Associazione Italiana Agrivoltaico Sostenibile in Bologna, contributing to the ongoing dialogue on the future of agrivoltaics in Italy.
Bringing together institutions, researchers, and industry leaders, the event highlighted the role of agrivoltaico sostenibile as a strategic lever to address energy transition while strengthening agricultural systems and local communities.
During his keynote, Filippo Lafleur presented LAND’s approach to landscape as an active project platform, capable of integrating energy production, ecological regeneration, and territorial development.

A central focus of the talk was the application project developed by LAND with Repower Italia in Castelguglielmo, an agrivoltaic intervention that redefines the relationship between infrastructure and landscape.
Rather than limiting the project to energy production, the Castelguglielmo case explores how agrivoltaics can become a driver of environmental and spatial quality. The design introduces new ecological systems, enhances biodiversity, and creates synergies between agricultural use and renewable energy generation, transforming the site into a multifunctional landscape.

This approach reflects a broader shift: moving beyond mitigation and compensation towards projects that actively generate value for ecosystems and communities. By combining energy, agriculture, and nature within a single framework, agrivoltaic landscapes can become catalysts for a more resilient and integrated territorial future.
Our contribution reinforces the commitment to exploring new models for landscape-driven transformation, where design plays a key role in shaping the ecological and energy transitions ahead.
