It is one of Europe’s most significant urban regeneration initiatives, reimagining the region’s railway infrastructure to foster sustainable mobility and revitalise urban landscapes. This transformative vision centres on the Milan-Malpensa corridor, a vital 54-km axis that links Milano Cadorna station with Malpensa Airport, positioning it as a strategic backbone for the metropolitan area’s future.

The Arcore Water Park protects the area from flooding and allows people to enjoy a natural environment also designed for social and aggregation purposes. It is large natural reservoir, planted with hygrophilous vegetation species, capable of storing water up to a capacity of 14 thousand cubic metres and then slowly dispersing it. A green meadow on which one can safely walk in the absence of rain, is a symbol and landmark of the park itself.

By transforming a once mono-functional agricultural space and low-value wooded areas between Lomazzo, Cadorago, and Bregnano within Lura Park, we’ve crafted flood mitigation basins and new riverbanks using nature-based solutions.
