The goal of the Plan for Bolzano is a greener city that encourages contact between nature and citizens in and outside the city.

The municipality of Bolzano has undertaken the process of realizing a Green Plan through the new Provincial Law 9/2018, “Territorio e Paesaggio,” and the D.P.P. 17/2020, which sets new urban standards for urban green areas. The goal of the Plan for Bolzano is a greener city that encourages contact between nature and citizens in and outside the city.
The Plan is set up as an essential tool for urban planning in order to determine an organic programme of interventions for the quantitative and qualitative development of urban greenery, peri-urban and naturalistic urban green in the medium and long term, in line with the economic and social development and urban transformation of the territory.
The Plan is composed of an analytical cognitive phase and a planning-programmatic phase. The programmatic phase’s outputs are the Planning Guidelines, which will guide the municipality through the actions to be carried out to implement the Plan. The Guidelines have also received the contribution from the Participatory Process and the discussions with stakeholders.
