For the former industrial area Mülheimer Süden, we reimagined a fragmented urban territory as a coherent, future-oriented landscape, where open space becomes the structuring framework for development. By revealing potentials, addressing vulnerabilities, and guiding transformation across scales, the framework plan positions landscape as a strategic driver for resilient and integrated urban growth.

Characterised by the port industry, the Untere Werft forms a unique open space in Krefeld-Uerdingen. The currently inadequate connection and design mean that this potential remains largely unutilised. The redesign aims to make the site attractive, focusing on recreation and historical value.

With the redevelopment of the regional headquarter of North Rhine-Westphalia in Düsseldorf, a new and vibrant open space will connect surrounding green spaces and public areas, integrating flood protection and rainwater management for increased climate resilience.

2018
LAND is planning the surroundings of the new headquarters of the Schwarz Group in Bad Friedrichshall, aiming at maximum greening, community enhancement and a sustainable concept for rainwater and irrigation, both for the large landscape frame around the campus and for the green centre between the buildings. Through the design, nature is made tangible at the workplace.

Supported by a feasibility study led by LAND, the German city of Essen won the title of European Green Capital for 2017. Dedicated installations and urban interventions were devised for the award year, while the city’s commitment to a green and sustainable transformation continues to this day.
