LAND in Nhood's Winning Team for Green Soul in Bologna, C40 Reinventing Cities

Nhood Services Italy (‘Nhood’), an international real estate solutions company specialised in commercial real estate and urban regeneration, announces that it has won, with the urban regeneration project ‘Green Soul’, the international C40 Reinventing Cities tender promoted by the Municipality of Bologna and FS Sistemi Urbani, a company of the Italian FS Group, for the regeneration of the ‘Scalo Ravone-Prati’ in the capital of Emilia.

At the heart of Green Soul is its landscape, envisioned as a living, breathing entity that enhances the urban fabric and embodies a nature-positive philosophy. The project aspires to create a car-free, energy-positive district with 43,000 square metres of public green spaces, 600 newly planted trees, and 30,000 square metres of permeable surfaces. By harnessing innovative technologies such as photovoltaics and rainwater harvesting, the district will aim for net-zero emissions from the outset and total decarbonisation within 50 years.

The landscape design emphasizes climate resilience, aiming to reduce CO2 emissions by 64%. It incorporates urban gardens and green spaces that promote biodiversity and community interaction. Integrating green housing, affordable living options, and new services will foster a diverse, inclusive neighbourhood that reflects Nhood’s commitment to sustainable urban living.

Green Soul is not just about transforming land; it is about creating a legacy of environmental responsibility and social equity. With its green infrastructure and people-centric design, it stands as a model for future urban developments, aligning with the global goals of the UN 2030 Agenda and the C40 Reinventing Cities challenges.
