Rethinking “Green” in Hospitality: Andreas Kipar on InOut Review
In the October 2026 issue of InOut Review, LAND Founder and CEO Andreas Kipar explains why, in hospitality, landscape is a design tool that shapes the guest experience, from storytelling and year-round design to maintenance planning and water efficiency across every scale of a project.
What does a guest see, smell and experience from the moment they arrive? In the interview “Ripensare il ‘verde’ con Andreas Kipar” (Rethinking ‘green’ with Andreas Kipar), published in the October 2026 issue of InOut Review, Andreas Kipar explains how LAND approaches landscape in hospitality projects.
For Kipar, the relationship between inside and outside is essential: from the scale of an entire destination, such as Bibione, to that of a single hotel, the care of greenery needs to be present at every level. LAND’s work is guided by the philosophy of telling a story, as at Casa di Langa, immersed in a UNESCO landscape, and Villa Feltrinelli, where vegetal architecture translates the history of Lake Garda.
Outdoor spaces are no longer an appendix of the hotel, but the central environment around which everything else is built. Designed to perform in all four seasons and supported by a maintenance plan and attention to water efficiency, the garden becomes a living system that brings guests back.
Because in hospitality, the landscape is not the backdrop of the experience: it is where the experience begins.
