Filippo Lafleur

I lead strategic environmental and nature-based projects for international public and private clients. With over 10 years of experience in the field, I recently completed a joint PhD in Urban Planning Design and Policy at Politecnico di Milano and TU Delft, concluding the “SuperValley” project on soil regeneration and the architecture of agricultural space.

My expertise combines urban and regional planning, landscape design, and biodiversity strategies, with a specialization in nature restoration strategies and ecological transition processes. During my academic career at TU Delft, I held research roles in European projects such as JPI Urban Europe Green Blue Cities and developed the first Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) on nature-based metropolitan solutions.

My work has gained international recognition: through LAND, I received a Special Mention at the International Landscape Architecture Festival (Paysage 2024), was selected for the prestigious Archiprix competition, and participated in the 2018 Venice Biennale with the project “The Port and the Fall of Icarus.” I have published over 10 scientific articles in international journals, as well as the book “The Port and The Fall Of Icarus” (Humboldt Books, 2019).

My doctoral research developed multi-scalar spatial strategies to regenerate 4.9 million hectares of agrarian space across the Alpine-Padano-Adriatic megaregion, demonstrating the transformative potential of Italian agricultural landscapes toward nature-positive configurations.
