In occasion of the Landesgartenschau Neuss 2026 (LAGA), the large parking area on Wendersplatz was temporarily transformed into the central entrance area of the exhibition grounds.
The temporary design features a colourful layout, large varieties of plants and flowers, as well as versatile facilities for cultural events and activities held throughout the Garden Show.

At Vennhauser Allee in Düsseldorf, the new campus for the community primary school is setting a benchmark for sustainable educational landscapes. A DGNB-certified project commissioned by the City of Düsseldorf, the design creates a generous and multifaceted outdoor space that supports learning through play, while placing a strong emphasis on greenery, biodiversity, and the quality of open space.

With the development concept for the Schaeffler Campus in Herzogenaurach, a strategic blueprint is emerging for the transformation of industrial sites into productive, climate-active and ecologically high-performing landscapes. LAND Germany is accompanying the site on its path from a functionally driven industrial area to a future-ready corporate campus that understands nature as infrastructure – and as an active part of value creation.

Characterised by the port industry, the Untere Werft forms a unique open space in Krefeld-Uerdingen. The currently inadequate connection and design mean that this potential remains largely unutilised. The redesign aims to make the site attractive, focusing on recreation and historical value.

With the redevelopment of the regional headquarter of North Rhine-Westphalia in Düsseldorf, a new and vibrant open space will connect surrounding green spaces and public areas, integrating flood protection and rainwater management for increased climate resilience.

Located in the heart of Düsseldorf, the redesigned Schlüterstraße school campus sets a benchmark for sustainable and innovative outdoor spaces, with nature and education going hand in hand. In the spirit of creating a “green classroom”, school grounds are transformed into a vibrant, multifunctional landscape where learning, recreation, and sustainability seamlessly converge.

The existing secondary school named after Elsa Brändström in Rheine, near Cologne, is to be expanded to six trains and rebuilt on the site north of the Emsland Stadium. Connected by a continuous “play and sports belt” along the stadium circuit, the school and sports hall develop an urban unit, based on the competition design won by LAND Germany and JSWD Architekten.

The Q reactivates the former Quelle Versandzentrum in Nürnberg, a protected landmark of post-war modernism designed by Prof. Ernst Neufert. Following its closure in 2009, the large area of 250,000 m² remained vacant. Since 2018, a comprehensive mixed-use redevelopment strategy has been advanced for the site. LAND Germany was involved in the feasibility study for the regeneration of the green areas of the site, as well as in the detailed planning and executive design.

As an example of Germany’s commitment to sustainability and its innovation in facing environmental issues, the German Garden at the EXPO 2019 in Beijing showcased the development of typical German landscapes under the motto “Seeding the Future”, combining modern technologies with traditional features.

Against the backdrop of a 2 km long noise barrier being built within the wider Duisburg area, the urban development gap between Neudorf, Bissingheim and Wedau is being closed on the former marshalling yard in Duisburg Wedau on an area of over 90 hectares. Thus, the Sechs-Seen-Platte recreational area and the Wedau sports forest will be connected and generate a wide range of leisure activities for residents and new residents of the future neighbourhoods.

LAND is planning the surroundings of the new headquarters of the Schwarz Group in Bad Friedrichshall, aiming at maximum greening, community enhancement and a sustainable concept for rainwater and irrigation, both for the large landscape frame around the campus and for the green centre between the buildings. Through the design, nature is made tangible at the workplace.
