General Masterplan

Eastern Hub - Former Shooting Range Masterplan

North-East Pole

The project envisions a system of six sports hubs to define and structure Poetto Park through two main fronts: a blue edge, focused on water-related sports along the coastline, and a green edge connecting the salt pans and Molentargius natural areas. Each hub serves a distinct function: Eastern Hub (Former Shooting Range), North-Eastern Hub (Is Arenas), Western Hub (Multi-Sports Center), Southern Hub (Maritime Sports), South-Eastern Hub (Equestrian Sports), and Central Hub (Rollone).
A sustainable mobility system with park-and-ride facilities ensures access to the hubs and surrounding services. A unified technological system supports tourism and information sharing. 21 km of routes are allocated for sports activities and a half marathon, with a possible extension to 42 km for a full marathon. Connectivity is expanded through the city’s navigable canal with 12 new docking points.
The plan reinforces the link between landscape, identity, and community use, preserving and enhancing the natural and cultural character of the area.
