Venaria Reale Unveils the New Viale Buridani

On May 16th in Venaria Reale, the renewed Viale Buridani was unveiled. The project introduces 166 trees and sustainable materials, transforming the avenue into a greener, more accessible, and pedestrian-friendly urban space.

During the Festa delle Rose in Venaria Reale, close to Turin, Viale Buridani came into bloom, unveiling its new look to residents and visitors alike.

The main goal behind the project is to create more space for pedestrians and social interaction, while also supporting local businesses, transforming the boulevard into a vibrant place for the community by bringing the landscape back to the center.

The Municipality of Venaria set out to revitalize Viale Buridani, one of the city’s main commercial corridors, by “preserving identity while changing perception”. The project introduced 166 new trees and made exclusive use of sustainable materials, including reflective pavement and Asfalto Natura, among the most innovative paving solutions available today. Selected for their high solar reflectance, these materials will significantly reduce the urban heat island effect while improving environmental comfort throughout the area.

Furthermore, the entire avenue has been redesigned to improve accessibility and road safety, particularly for people with reduced mobility, disabilities, strollers, and children.

Welcome back, Viale Buridani

All these enhancements have made it possible to combine aesthetic value, environmental wellbeing, and citizens’ quality of life within a single project, transforming one of the city’s most important avenues into a renewed public space whose reopening has been warmly welcomed by the community as a long-awaited return.
