Terræ Aquæ, Vol. 2 – Italy and the Intelligence of the Sea: Projects, Research, Visions

Catalogue of the Italian Pavilion for the 19th International Architecture Exhibition – La Biennale di Venezia

Terræ Aquæ is divided into three complementary volumes and offers a critical framework for navigating the currents of our contemporary world. It can be defined as modern-day portolan, inspired by the medieval nautical charts that once combined technical knowledge and imagination to depict the complexity of the known world.

In the second volume, curated by Guendalina Salimei, the approaches and practices that shaped the Italian Pavilion during the 2025 Exhibition are explored.

Amongst them, LAND Italia’s Waterfront Regeneration concept for Trieste’s Porto Vecchio is featured, highlighting the design that aims to reconnect the port with the city by linking Nature and culture within the urban fabric.
