“Stadt, Umwelt und Zukunft”: a new urban narrative rooted in Nature
Rethinking cities through nature-based solutions and community dialogue: Andreas Kipar introduces a new vision for urban life, where green infrastructure, social interaction, and climate resilience guide the transformation of our shared spaces. From Bozen to Graz, a new city narrative is emerging.
In an era shaped by climate challenges and fragmented urban life, Stadt, Umwelt und Zukunft outlines a shift in urban planning, a return to the “wirtliche Stadt”, a city that welcomes, connects, and regenerates. Andreas Kipar envisions a new urban logic where landscape reclaims the city, and where daily life, nature, and community interweave.
A tangible exemple is given by projects like the Urban Green Plan of Bolzano, featuring over 30 km of Ringpromenade and 23 km of river parks, leading the Nature-Positive transition of the city through green-blue infrastructure and 15-minute urban models that promote proximity and cultivate shared identity.
At the core of this transformation are the people: only through community engagement and inclusive planning can cities become climate resilient, inclusive and socially connected, not just aesthetically renewed, but ethically redefined.
