CUBE Magazin on reforestation efforts at Krupp Park in Essen

Essen's green lung has become even greener because we have completed our recent reforestation efforts in the southern area of Krupp Park.

In a groundbreaking collaboration with Grün und Gruga, we reforested five and a half of the park’s eight hectares. Our aim was to recover biodiversity and improve climate change mitigation. The over 11,000 trees we planted will not only provide cooling and shady spots on hot summer days but also integrate vibrant commercial and leisure facilities, a unique and exciting addition to the park for people’s well-being.

Building on the commitment of our masterplan “Freiraum schafft Stadtraum” (‘Open Space Creates Urban Space’), which regenerated the northern area over 15 years ago, Krupp Park now acts even more as a catalyst for promoting an attractive and healthy environment, improving quality of life and fostering social cohesion within the local #community.
