Susan Isawi

I’m a Landscape Architect with a degree in Landscape Architecture from La Sapienza University of Rome. After completing my studies, I lived in several European cities, including Madrid, before moving to the Netherlands, where I spent five years. During that time, I worked at OKRA landschapsarchitecten, focusing on urban and territorial-scale projects in the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, and China.

In 2022, I returned to Italy and collaborated with Stradivarie, a landscape architecture studio based between Trieste and Bologna, where I worked as a project manager on several urban projects across Emilia Romagna and Friuli Venezia Giulia.

In 2023, I was selected through a public call to join the Roma 2050 Laboratory – a team of ten professionals including architects, landscape architects, and engineers, led by Stefano Boeri. Together, we developed a strategic vision for the city of Rome in 2050, producing guidelines and projects focused on mobility, environmental systems, and archaeological heritage.

Two chapters of this work were presented in May at the Venice Biennale within the Intelligens exhibition and later at the Triennale di Milano as part of the Inequalities exhibition. Most recently, the project was presented to the city of Rome at the Campidoglio, just two weeks ago.
