In June 2025, LAND launched From VALLEY to FIELD, a three-part internal event series shaped by the research and vision of Filippo Lafleur, Urbanist at LAND Italia. The research project has been awarded the 1st Prize at City'Scape Awards 2025.

The regeneration and restoration project of Parco del Valentino in Turin, presented by LAND at the City’Scape Awards, has won the 1st Prize ex aequo in Category D, dedicated to “Interventions on parks and gardens of historical, artistic, or landscape interest.”

Though Milan and Montreal are more than 6,000 km apart, LAND’s borderless and collaborative vision has brought the two cities closer together, thanks to an ongoing academic dialogue centered on landscape, urban design, and education.

On June 12th, the UNIMONT Campus of the University of Milan in Edolo hosted the event “ENERSCAPE: verso un rinnovato connubio paesaggio-energia”, an open dialogue between Italy and Switzerland exploring how renewable energy can coexist with, and even enhance, the Alpine landscape.

From learning on-site to planting roots in the landscape, this spring has been a season of site visits, shared stories, and hands-on growth across LAND.

We are glad to announce the promotion of Valentina Galiulo as Director at LAND Italia, taking on a strategic leadership role focused on driving innovation at the intersection of climate resilience, ecosystem services, and digital transformation.

In a recent seminar hosted by the Accademia di Sanremo, students and faculty explored how landscape design can address environmental challenges and contribute to more inclusive and liveable spaces, drawing in particular from our growing experience in arid and climate-sensitive regions such as the MENA area.

On the occasion of its 15th anniversary, Green City Italia, the association founded by Andreas Kipar is organizing the European Green City Forum: a large-scale event at Palazzo Lombardia, dedicated to exploring the theme of urban regeneration through nature, innovation, and active citizenship.

How can nature become the infrastructure of tomorrow’s cities? In Genoa, Parco Gavoglio offers a tangible answer. This former military site in the Lagaccio district has been transformed into a multifunctional public space, designed with Nature-Based Solutions (NBS) at its core.

The German Consulate General in Milan, in collaboration with LAND, is bringing the ‘Climate Talks’ to the Lombard capital. This format, created by the Federal Foreign Office and already implemented by various German representations around the world, aims to explore and share strategies toward climate neutrality. Last night at the “Talent Garden” on Via Arcivescovo Calabiana 6, the virtuous models of Milan and Frankfurt am Main in urban resilience were compared, addressing future design challenges with an increasing focus on people’s well-being.

Over the past weeks, I’ve been reflecting deeply on care: care for places, for people, and for what comes after us. Perhaps it’s the resonance of spring, or the lasting impression of my recent journey to Japan with my wife and daughters: a rare blend of professional inspiration and personal reflection.

The new multifunctional area, dedicated to the father of LAND co-founder Giovanni Sala, spans 4,500 sqm and includes 3,550 sqm of lawn, 820 sqm of permeable paving for climate resilience and 116 trees planted within the Forestami reforestation initiative. The park intends to promote shared well-being, social inclusion, and sustainable development in Barona and Milan.
