New Hospital of Livorno competition with Rossiprodi
Rossiprodi Associati won the New Hospital of Livorno competition, for which LAND was responsible for the landscaping.
Almost 20 years have passed since Baden Powell Park, our first landscaping project for Livorno. Over these years, Livorno has changed a lot. However, the need to make our cities greener and more people-friendly places to reconnect with nature has not changed. The New Hospital site, a strategic junction between the agricultural landscape, the port area, and the consolidated urban fabric, becomes an opportunity to redevelop a former industrial plant in the heart of Livorno.
Our green project is closely connected to the healing landscape and design concepts for all. All this is included in a more extensive park, with a renewed quality of space and equipment for psycho-physical well-being capable of stimulating all the users’ senses in thematic paths.
Taking advantage of the site’s topography and the concept of multilayer nature, developed at different heights through terracing, green patios-gardens and the sculptural modelling of the site, we reinforce the green continuity within the lot.
