LAND Suisse wins 1st Prize in Küsnacht
LAND Suisse, together with Marazzi + Paul Architektur AG, has been awarded 1st prize in a housing competition in Küsnacht, near Zurich.
The competition site is located at a highly sensitive threshold — where the village fabric meets open space and a geologically and ecologically unique wetland landscape. In this context, landscape is not a backdrop, but the starting point of the project.
The proposal is grounded in landscape-driven principles, responding to the existing topography and safeguarding long-distance and local views into the area’s Natural Capital. Rather than imposing a singular architectural gesture, the project adopts a measured and respectful approach, shaped by the specific spatial and ecological identity of the site.

The buildings are conceived as a calm and mediating element between the existing settlement and the surrounding landscape. A rhythmical layout replaces rigid forms, allowing the development to integrate naturally into its context while reinforcing the character of the place and welcoming new residents.
This result reflects a shared attitude between LAND Suisse and Marazzi + Paul Architektur AG: a commitment to contextual integration, ecological awareness, and careful spatial design.
A warm thank you to the client for the trust placed in the team, and congratulations to everyone involved in the project.
