Senior Consultant (m/f/d) – Nature-Positive Urban Planning

LAND Research Lab is looking for an experienced consultant to lead nature-positive urban development projects across the DACH region, with a focus on ecosystem services and climate resilience. You will work with municipalities and private clients, combining data-driven analysis with strategic consulting to deliver impactful, scalable solutions. The role includes active client development and contributes directly to the growth of the LAND Research Lab in the DACH region.

Key Responsibilities

 Project Delivery

  • Lead and deliver consultancy projects in nature-positive urban development, applying data-driven approaches (e.g. ecosystem service analysis, climate resilience modelling)
  • Translate client needs into actionable project strategies and guide multidisciplinary teams in execution
  • Ensure high-quality delivery within scope, timelines, and budget Develop compelling narratives that translate analytical outputs into clear, decision-relevant insights (incl. AI-supported approaches)
  • Facilitate collaboration across teams and stakeholders to deliver integrated solutions

Client Development

  • Drive client development: build and expand relationships with municipalities and private clients, identify opportunities, and convert them into projects
  • Proactively generate repeat business and contribute to a sustainable project pipeline
  • Contribute to annual revenue targets through active client development and conversion of opportunities into projects

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Sustainability, Landscape Architecture, Urban Planning, Architecture or a related field
  • 7+ years of experience in consulting, including project management responsibility
  • Proven track record in client development and/or contributing to business growth
  • Strong understanding of European sustainability frameworks and regulations (e.g. CSRD, ESG, EU Nature Restoration Law)
  • Strong communication skills in German and English
  • Experience with data-driven approaches and high interest in AI and innovative methodologies
  • Strong storytelling and presentation skills (incl. PowerPoint, InDesign or similar tools)
  • Structured, proactive working style with strong organisational capabilities
