Design4Future: Nature, Technology, Innovation and People in Connection

As part of Fuorisalone 2025 and its theme “Mondi Connessi” (Connected Worlds), Design4Future will present a multivocal dialogue taking place next April 11 at 17:00 at the LAND Wunderkammer, via Varese 12, Milan.

This multidisciplinary discussion will bring together experts from various professional fields—architecture, sustainability, education, and technology—to explore the dynamic interplay between nature, technology, innovation, social equity and people. The panel will feature:

  • Giovanna Iannantuoni, President of Italian Rectors’ Conference, Rector of UniBicocca (Innovation)
  • Luisa Collina, Vice President of Fondazione Politecnico di Milano and Full Professor at the Design Faculty, Politecnico di Milano (People)
  • Randa A. Mahmoud, Dean of the College of Architecture and Design at Prince Sultan University, Riyadh (Technology)
  • Jens Hoffmann, COO of LAND, General Manager, and Partner (Nature)

The discussion will be moderated by Valentina Galiulo, Project Director at LAND Italia and PhD in Architecture, City Territory, and Habitats.

The initiative seeks to explore and promote a participatory and generative design, emphasizing interactivity and immersion in an increasingly connected world. The goal is to examine how design can act as a bridge between different dimensions of our lives, uniting nature, technology, cultural traditions, and future innovations.

High-level representatives from Milan and Riyadh will offer insights into the legacies of Expo Milano 2015 and Expo Riyadh 2030. The experts will explore the Expos’ legacy, focusing on their shared commitment to a more sustainable, technologically advanced, and inclusive future.

While Milan ignited a global movement for ecological awareness, Riyadh aims to set a benchmark for urban innovation, exploring how Nature, technology and people can collaborate to create more livable and adaptative cities. The discussion will highlight both the differences and points of convergence between these two leading cities of design and innovation.

The event is free to attend, but registration is highly recommended by emailing communication@landsrl.com.
