Andreas Kipar, landscape architect, urban planner and architect, is a co-founder of LAND and its CEO. Born in 1960 in Gelsenkirchen, Germany, Andreas Kipar’s work combines theory with practicality, home with distant places. Various steps, including his training as a gardener, studies in landscape architecture (GHS University in Essen) as well as architecture and urban planning (Politecnico di Milano), led to his first practical experience in Italy (Parco Nord, Milan) and the founding of LAND in 1990.

In the projects he consistently tackles through his company, he deals with global challenges and local problems alike. Working closely with clients and stakeholders, he seeks out creative solutions. In constant contact with industry and society, culture and science, he teaches landscape architecture and public space design as a visiting professor at the Politecnico di Milano.

He is an internationally sought-after, inspiring discussion partner on subjects related to the development of urban and rural areas using nature-based solutions.

Conscious of his mission to reconcile people with nature, he is a tireless communicator within his mostly young team at LAND, inspiring them just as he is inspired by his team. He sparks enthusiasm and in turn embraces it.
