The open space design for the UniCredit Bank Austria Campus deals with the location of the planning area within the landscape of the City of Vienna.

For this project, the identity and character of the surrounding landscape were worked out, analysed and used as development principles for the in-depth planning.
The overall design for the UniCredit Bank Austria Campus consists mainly of a spacious, urban boulevard with various ancillary areas and four green, landscaped courtyards based on the model of the Vienna Woods.
Based on the analysis of the existing landscape structures, the design develops around “landscape implants” inspired by the Vienna Woods’ (Wienerwald) typical structures of shrubs and plants, gradations of height and water elements. These basic patterns can be found in the design of the new open spaces.
While the boulevard has an open character and is open to the public, the inner courtyards are more protected and private and primarily serve a partial public.
