EU Project Specialist and Environmental Urban Analyst

LAND Italia is looking for an EU Project Specialist and Environmental Urban Analyst to join our multidisciplinary team in Milan.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys bridging scientific research, spatial data, and landscape design, translating complex environmental evidence into practical tools and supporting innovative approaches to resilient urban development.

The role is on-site in our Milan office.

Key responsibilities

  • Coordinate the technical management of EU-funded projects, particularly Horizon Europe, including the preparation of technical deliverables and project documentation.
  • Perform GIS-based environmental and climate analyses at multiple scales (territorial, urban, and site).
  • Produce digital maps, cartographic outputs, and landscape performance indicators to support climate adaptation strategies and design scenarios.
  • Contribute to applied research and innovation activities related to climate resilience, Nature-based Solutions, and environmental planning.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to translate scientific knowledge into spatial planning and design solutions.

Requirements

  • Experience in the preparation of EU project deliverables, with excellent technical writing skills in English and Italian.
  • Advanced proficiency in GIS software (QGIS preferred) for spatial analysis and data management.
  • Experience with the Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) for the production of maps and technical documentation.
  • Ability to conduct multi-scale environmental and climate analyses.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work within multidisciplinary international teams.
  • Good command of English, both written and spoken.

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience in Climate Adaptation Plans, Nature-based Solutions, and Nature-Positive planning.
  • Knowledge of remote sensing, Google Earth Engine, and environmental KPI development.
  • Experience handling complex spatial datasets, including raster, vector, and LiDAR data.
  • Programming skills for environmental modelling using Python or Java.
